Are you a federal government drug program manager, collector, or service agent looking to understand Executive Order 12564 and the Mandatory Guidelines for Federal Workplace Drug Testing Program? Look no further than FDTS! 
Our dedicated certificate course is designed to provide you with technical guidance on urine testing for federal workplace drug-testing programs, as well as proper testing procedures in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

We offer targeted two-hour virtual training sessions on the HHS Mandatory Guidelines and Drug-Free Workplace regulations for federal employees who manage or oversee federal drug testing programs. Offered twice a month.

Level 1: Understanding an HHS Drug Program Introduction Course

 

In this 2-day course for the initial certificate level, you will learn about the HHS urine specimen collections process in accordance with the Mandatory Guidelines for Federal Workplace Drug Testing Programs. Regulated urine specimen collections are essential to employment and workplace safety, and you will gain a good understanding of the basic fundamentals of this process. 

As a program manager, it is crucial for you to have a clear understanding of the functions and required processes that a collector should perform. This will enable you to communicate and make regulated decisions and provide options to the various collection sites you interact with across the country.

Course instructions will include:

  • Understanding the Model Plan

  • Understanding Testing Designated Positions

  • Understanding Public Law 100-71 

  • Executive Order 12564

  • HHS Mandatory Guidelines for Federal Workplace Drug Testing using Urine

  • What are fatal flaws and correctable flaws; and how to correct problems in collections; and

  • The collector’s responsibility for:

    • maintaining the integrity of the collection process

    • ensuring the privacy of employees being tested

    • ensuring the security of the specimen

 

Level 2: Understanding an HHS Drug Program Advance Course

During this two-day course, you will learn about the HHS urine specimen collection process in accordance with the Mandatory Guidelines for Federal Workplace Drug Testing Programs. Regulated urine specimen collections are an essential part of employment and workplace safety. 

 

As a program manager, it is crucial for you to have a clear understanding of the functions and required processes that a collector should perform. This will enable you to communicate effectively and make regulated decisions and provide various options to the different collection sites you interact with across the country.

Random

Follow-up

Return to duty

Reasonable Suspicion

Post-accident

How to handle difficult collections (i.e. hearing, seeing impaired etc.)

Learn how to correctly collect a urine specimen and complete the Custody & Control Form (CCF) and Alcohol Testing Form (ATF) if applicable.
